"Science for peace and development: creativity, experience, perspectives": research and innovation festival

The representatives of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy participated in the 3rd edition of the research and innovation festival "Science for peace and development: creativity, experience, perspectives", which took place on November 12 at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM). The event was organized by ASM and the Council of Rectors from the Republic of Moldova.
The festival started with the inauguration of an exhibition where the scientific results obtained in the years 2023-2024 by universities and research institutions of the country were presented. "World Science Day for Peace and Development is a moment of reflection and celebration of scientific progress, but also of unity in making efforts for a better world", said ASM president Ion Tighineanu.
Academician Eva Gudumac, the ASM vice-president, university professor at Natalia Gheorghiu Department of Surgery, Orthopedics and Pediatric Anesthesiology of Nicolae Testemitanu University, congratulated the participants for their dedication and professionalism, emphasizing the fact that, despite the financial difficulties, the spirit of collaboration remained a powerful one: "Science is the torch of truth and a symbol of unity, more than ever."
Resident doctors, doctoral students, researchers and scientific-teaching staff from our university presented the results obtained under the research projects, including those carried out through international collaboration: The morphological peculiarities of the facial nerve; Evaluating the effectiveness of the diagnosis and treatment of depression and anxiety; Cardiology training techniques for young researchers; Cardiovascular comorbidities in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in exacerbation; Antiglaucoma shunt with two valves; Oral cancer does not wait. The representatives of the following subdivisions participated in the exhibition: Department of Anatomy and Clinical Anatomy, Discipline of Cardiology, Discipline of Clinical Syntheses, Department of Ophthalmology, Ion Lupan Department of Pediatric Oro-Maxillo-Facial Surgery and Pedodontics, Arsenie Gutan Department of Oro-Maxillo-Facial Surgery and Oral Implantology, Discipline of Microbiology and Immunology, Discipline of Hygiene, Department of Mental Health, Medical Psychology and Psychotherapy, Scientific-Practical Center in the field of Medicinal Plants, Endocrinology Laboratory, Gastroenterology Laboratory, Tissue Engineering and Cell Culture Laboratory, Personalized Medicine Center, Health Sciences Library, Neurobiology and Medical Genetics Laboratory in collaboration with the Department of Neurology, Epileptology and Internal Diseases, and the Comprehensive Stroke Center from the Institute of Emergency Medicine.
The festival culminated with the “International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development" conference, organized jointly with the Romanian Academy.
