Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova was represented by Daniel Cristea, third-year student at the Faculty of Medicine no. 1, at the 3rd International Congress of Young Francophone Students (CJEF). The event was organized by the Francophone University Agency (AUF) in the context of International Francophonie Week.
The event took place between October 14 and 15 and brought together students from 50 countries to celebrate the cultural diversity and values of Francophonie. Thus, prominent representatives of the francophone community, including AUF officials and leaders from various fields, emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among young francophones in the context of global challenges, promoting intercultural dialogue and mutual support.
During the forum, young people had the opportunity to participate in workshops, conferences and interactive sessions, where they addressed relevant topics such as: francophone culture, sustainable development, technological innovation, education, gender equality and contemporary global challenges. Thus, young people were able to express their opinions and collaborate on the development of innovative solutions for current problems.
An essential aspect discussed at the event was the Francophone International Mobility Program (PIMF), which will facilitate the exchange of experience between students from different countries. The program aims to strengthen relations between Francophone higher education institutions and promote cultural diversity. Participants had the opportunity to collaborate on joint projects, participate in workshops and develop intercultural skills essential for their future careers.
One of the most inspiring workshops was the "Toulouse Declaration: Plea for the School of Tomorrow", where participants discussed the vision of the future Francophone education, identified challenges and opportunities for the schools of tomorrow, emphasizing innovation and adaptability in education. As a result, a report will be drawn up with recommendations on the desired changes in the Francophone area. This declaration will be sent to the main political actors in higher education responsible for the development and promotion of Francophonie.
Scientific sessions and presentations were also organized in order to promote collaboration between higher education and research institutions, as well as networking sessions, interactive games and artistic presentations, contributing to the exchange of knowledge and memorable experiences.
According to Daniel Cristea, the given event constituted an extraordinary opportunity to learn and collaborate with colleagues from other countries: "This experience strengthened my commitment to promote the values of francophone and to contribute to a more united global community. I was impressed by the diversity of ideas and the commitment of participants to work together for a better future".
The Congress had a symbolic connotation, marking a far-reaching event in the CLEF network: the official launch of the International Association of Francophone Student Leaders Clubs. The 60 national representatives of the CLEF network, appointed by their colleagues in the spirit of pluralism, openness and collaboration, will be invited to this moment of reflection and governance exercise.
